P

rivate lender Bank Danamon on Tuesday launched ‘DCard Mobile’, a new mobile application that enables its customers to manage and supervise their credit card transactions through smartphones.

The publicly listed lender aimed to attract more than 800,000 of Danamon’s existing credit card users to the mobile app and entice new customers to apply online for its credit card products.

“We hope that we can attract more than 1 million users in the future,” Danamon senior executive vice president for consumer lending and e-channel Djamin Nainggolan told reporters.

DCard Mobile will also allow customers to block access to misplaced or stolen credit cards in real time, a feature it claimed could give customers peace of mind, and provide immediate information of the credit card transactions of customers.

Two years ago, the bank launched ‘D-Mobile’, a separate mobile banking app that allows customers to perform retail transactions online.

Danamon plans to combine both applications for an improved user experience next year.

“By giving customers easier access to control their credit cards through DCard Mobile, we hope our customers will be more loyal to us,” Danamon director Michellina Triwardhany said. (win)
