akarta gubernatorial candidate Anies Baswedan and his running mate Sandiaga Uno have promised to implement several anticorruption programs if they are elected next year.
As part of his fight against corruption, Anies said he aimed to create applications people could use to monitor the implementation of the Jakarta administration’s projects and the use of the city’s budget.
"We will provide applications so that the public can check how administration programs are running in their areas. With the apps, residents can also access program timelines as well as the budget allocation for each city project," Anies said.
He was speaking during the celebration of International Anti-Corruption Day at his campaign post on Jl. Cicurug, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Friday.
Former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairman Bambang Widjodjanto, who has been appointed as the spokesman of the candidate pair, also said Anies and Sandi would oblige all public officials in their administration to submit wealth reports (LKHPN).
“With the report, if there is an increase in a public official’s wealth that he or she can't explain, it will be easy for us to trace it. That official may be charged with illicit attempts to enrich themselves," Bambang said.
He further said the pair would make all LKHPN of public officials in their administration accessible to the public, even those working at the district and subdistrict levels. (ebf)
