T

he Jambi General Elections Commission (KPU) has completed the sorting and folding process of ballots for elections that will take place simultaneously across three regencies, namely Muarojambi, Sarolangun and Tebo, on Feb. 15.

As many as 737 ballots were found to be damaged.

The KPU Jambi has instructed commissioners in the three regencies to immediately report damaged ballots to the KPU in Jakarta for replacement.

“Damaged ballots were found in all of the regencies and we will ask for their replacement,” KPU Jambi logistics division head Pahmi Sy said on Wednesday.

He further explained that Muarojambi had reported 498 damaged ballots while Sarolangun and Tebo had found 139 and 200 damaged ballots, respectively.

Pahmi said the KPU Jambi had prepared a mechanism where polling stations could carry out a cross ballot subsidy to anticipate a shortage of ballots during voting day. (ebf)
