The Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in Jambi has found 1,018 polling stations across the province to be prone to violations.
The stations are located in three regencies that will hold simultaneous elections on Feb. 15, namely Muaro Jambi, Tebo and Sarolangun.
“In Sarolangun, 412 of a total 586 polling stations are prone [to violations]. In Tebo, there are 333 of 669 [such] stations, while in Muaro Jambi it is 237 of 840 stations," Bawaslu Jambi head Ribut Suwarsono said on Tuesday.
He said the Bawaslu had conducted the mapping with the help of the General Elections Commission (KPU) in Jambi and local authorities. He added that the Bawaslu would request police personnel to be deployed to the polling stations in questions.
According to him, the most prevalent type of violation is illegal voting.

The KPU has allowed unregistered voters to cast votes only if they can show a letter issued by the local Civil Registration agency confirming that they are local residents.
However, Ribut noted that that letter itself was prone to falsification.
“We are paying attention to this issue to prevent voters from illicitly casting votes more than once or non-eligible voters casting votes,” he said. (bbs)
