ne day before regional elections are held on Wednesday, it has been found that about 11,500 people are not listed on the final voter list (DPT) in West Sulawesi.

The voters, however, have been sent letters by the civil registry office that recognizes their right to vote in Wednesday's election.

However, the monitoring division head at the West Sulawesi Elections Supervisory Body, Muhammad Yunus, said there could be a lack of ballots to accommodate them.

"There were additional ballots but the distribution was not really smooth as no mapping had been conducted yet. There is no data on polling stations that have insufficient ballots so there is a possibility that voters will not be able to use their voting right," he said on Tuesday

National Commission on Human Rights member Hafid Abbas urged the General Elections Commission to go all out to enable people to vote.

"This will be one of the things that I monitor here," he said.

Of the province’s 1.5 million population, 840,091 are registered voters.
