Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama's verdict hearing prompted severe congestion in areas around the Agriculture Ministry on Jl. RM Harsono, Ragunan, South Jakarta, where the hearing took place on Tuesday morning.
A local resident, Devie Dulla, said Tuesday that the traffic was worse than the usual as she had to spent 45 minutes on a motorcycle from her house in Depok, West Java, to her office in T.B. Simatupang in South Jakarta. She further said that during a normal day, she only needed 20 minutes for the trip.
"The traffic was even worse than the previous hearing of this trial," she told The Jakarta Post.

The National Police and the Indonesian Military have deployed 14,000 joint officers to secure the verdict hearing, almost three times the usual number of officers deployed during Ahok's previous hearing.
Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said the police would try to prevent any potential threat as both the anti-Ahok masses and Ahok supporters staged rallies in front of the hearing venue. "We need to anticipate potential clashes in other areas, as well," he said. (ebf)
