fatal work accident took place in Bahodipi district, Morowali regency, Central Sulawesi, on Sunday as an employee of a mining company died after being run over by a bulldozer at the company’s plant.

The worker was identified as Joko Hama Ngadi, 50, an employee of PT. Sulawesi Mining Investment.

The incident occurred when Joko was walking toward the apron area while a bulldozer carrying soil driven by his colleague, identified as M, was passing by. M allegedly did not see Joko in front of the bulldozer as the bucket was raised up high.

Joko’s head was hit by the bulldozer’s bucket, which also slammed his body to the ground. Unable to get up, he was run over by the bulldozer’s roller.

A witness named Arman saw the incident and ran toward the bulldozer calling for the operator to stop driving, however he was too late. Joko’s body was brought to a local clinic, but he could not be saved. His body was then transported to Bungku Hospital in Morowali for physical examination. The case is being handled by Bahodopo Police precinct in coordination with Morowali Police.
