Iyus allegedly sent the text message to the mosque caretaker on Saturday at 12 a.m.
After receiving the text, the mosque caretaker reported the threat to the Sawah Besar Police.
The police directly followed up the report by teaming up with the Jakarta Police’s general crimes division.
The police said Iyus sent the message from Pasar Baru in Central Jakarta.
Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said Iyus was arrested at The Peak apartments in Setiabudi, South Jakarta.
“He was arrested without resistance,” Argo said as quoted by tribunnews.com on Tuesday.
During the arrest, the officers seized Iyus’ mobile phone, ID, ATM card and Rp150,000 (US$11).
The police also searched his rented house in Meruya, West Jakarta, Argo said.
