The investigation started when authorities found a boat carrying 16 Indian, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationals without any immigration documents stranded in Tablolong village in Kupang regency on their way to the Australian territory of Christmas Island in November 2015.

The boat began its journey from Sukabumi, West Java, but ran out of fuel and had drifted off its route. (bbs)
