akarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat inaugurated on Friday wholesale food market Jakgrosir, which is managed by city owned market operator PD Pasar Jaya, in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.
PD Pasar Jaya president director Arief Nasrudin said vendors from markets under PD Pasar Jaya could buy supplies at the market.
“Commodities sold in Jakgrosir are cheaper and competitive, so vendors can easily get their supplies,” Arief said.
Jakgrosir is selling approximately 2,114 items of goods that can be purchased only by those who have a vendor card called the “Monas Business Saving” card. Every trader under PD Pasar Jaya will get the card.
“For the initial stage, [the cards would be distributed to] vendors at Kramat Jati Market, Pramuka Market, and Jatinegara Market [all in East Jakarta], and we will continue distributing them to all markets in Jakarta,” Arief said.
The market is being built on a 3,800-square-meter plot of land and has a loading area, parking lots and cold storage equipped with controlled atmosphere storage machines. (dis)
