A

palm wine seller identified as Juara Berkat Tambunan, 33, was allegedly stabbed to death by a customer at his stall in Pulo Gadung Bus Terminal, East Jakarta, on Saturday.

Pulo Gadung Police chief Comr. Sukadi said seven stab wounds were found on the victim’s body.

He further explained that the suspect, identified as KS, had bought some wine from Juara earlier that night. Unfortunately, the transaction led to a heating argument.

“Juara’s words upset KS,” he said.

According to witnesses, KS told Juara as he was leaving the stall that he would get back at him.

At around 2 a.m., KS reportedly returned with a knife and stabbed Juara, then fled the scene. He was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Juara was rushed to Mediros Hospital, East Jakarta, but was later referred to Persahabatan Hospital, also in East Jakarta. He died en route to the second hospital.

“We are trying our best to capture KS. He is still in hiding, but we have spoken to his relatives to urge him to surrender,” Sukadi said. (Gis)
