akarta Governor Anies Baswedan wants the city administration to celebrate the upcoming New Year’s Eve with a cultural festival.

He said that during the festival Jakartans could watch art performances from various tribes of Indonesia.

“I have requested the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency to prepare the event,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com on Thursday, adding that his team was still discussing the concept of the festival.

Events is planned to be staged in several areas of the capital, such as along Jl. MH Thamrin and at the National Monument (Monas) compound in Central Jakarta, the Ancol Dreamland Park in North Jakarta and the regency of Thousand Islands. (dpk)
