View all search resultsamsul Anwar, alias Awang, the alleged coordinator of narcotics distribution at MG International nightclub, surrendered himself to the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) on Wednesday afternoon.
Samsul had been put onto the most wanted list (DPO).
BNN drug control head Insp. Gen. Arman Depari said that the suspect was currently being questioned by his agency, wartakota.tribunnews.com reported.
Arman said his agency would investigate his involvement and position in the production of illegal drugs at the nightclub.
"He is allegedly responsible for distributing the liquid drugs to the club's guests and also screening the guests' member cards. After the screening, he would ask the captain to give the drugs [to the guest]," he said, adding that Samsul also received money from the drug transactions.
Another suspect, Agung Ashari, also known as Rudi, who is allegedly in charge of the nightclub, is still at large.
"With Samsul's surrender, it will accelerate the process. As ordered by the BNN head, we will pursue the suspect until we arrest him. We are even permitted to shoot him if he resists arrest," he said of Rudi. (rdi)
