ndonesia and Palestine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to exchange zero tariffs for particular goods to improve their bilateral trade, Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita announced Wednesday.

“On the sidelines of the WTO ministerial conference in Argentina recently, we signed the MoU with Palestine as instructed by our President to implement the OIC [Organization of Islamic Cooperation] summit decision,” he told a press conference.

Indonesia has agreed to apply zero tariffs for Palestine’s dates and olive oil, while Indonesia has yet to submit its list of products of interest.

“We’ve asked them what [goods] they need from us and they said they need all products,” he said, adding that the Finance Ministry would immediately issue a regulation on zero tariffs for the Palestinian products, starting next month. (bbn)
