Guitarist Dewa Budjana is set to collaborate with keyboardist Jordan Rudess from the metal band Dream Theater for his upcoming album Mahandini.
He made the announcement on his Instagram account @dewabudjana, kompas.com reported.
Budjana and Rudess met at the JogjaRockarta music festival in September 2017 to talk about the project.
“I am very happy to announce that my newest album Mahandini will be recorded in the first months of 2018,” Budjana wrote on his Instagram account on Dec. 18.
He added that Rudess would be assisting him on keys, along with Mohini Dey on bass and Marco Minnemann on drums.
Dey is an up-and-coming bassist from India, while Minnemann is a German drummer who has played in rock guitarist Joe Satriani’s band since 2013.
Budjana said he planned to have more special guests for a progressive project set to be released later this year.
