West Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officer, identified as Budi Wiyono, 52, died after being hit by an airport train at Jembatan Gantung railway crossing, Kedaung, Angke, Cengkareng, West Jakarta at around 9 a.m on Saturday.

“The victim had just finished his shift in Penjaringan subdistrict [North Jakarta],” said West Jakarta Satpol PP head Tamo Sijabat on Saturday as quoted by Tempo.co.

According to eyewitnesses, Budi rode his motorcycle toward the railway crossing, even though the airport train was approaching.

“I tried to stop him, but he kept moving forward. I blew my whistle and warned him, but he ignored me,” said Ujang, 53, the man who was guarding the railway crossing gate, on Saturday.

The airport train then hit Budi, knocking him and his motorcycle about three meters away from the scene.

Budi was rushed to Tangerang General Hospital before being buried this afternoon near his house in Kampung Salo, North Kembangan, West Jakarta. (roi)
