ersonnel from the Jambi Prosecutors’ Office (Kejari) destroyed on Monday hundreds of packages of narcotics confiscated as evidence from several drug cases.
The Kejari said the court rulings on the cases were final and legally binding; hence, allowing the evidence to be destroyed.
The evidence destroyed included 224 packages of crystal methamphetamine, 57 packages of ecstasy pills, 67 packages of marijuana, 28 boxes of illegal drugs and six illegal firearms.
Kejari Jambi intelligence division head Antonius Despinola said his officers had destroyed the crystal meth by blending it with detergent. The marijuana was burned.
“We cut the six illegal firearms into pieces,” said Antonius. Representatives of the Jambi Police, the Jambi chapter of the National Narcotics Agency, the Jambi High Court and the Jambi chapter of the Food and Drugs Monitoring Agency witnessed the destruction of the drugs. (ebf)
