he Kembangan Police have arrested two men for allegedly selling crystal methamphetamine on Sunday night at a traffic intersection in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.
“We arrested the suspects while they were waiting for a customer,” Kembangan Police chief Comr. Supriadi said on Tuesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He said the police were responding to complaints from local residents that the intersection was frequented by drug dealers and their buyers.
Supriadi said that when the police surveyed the location, the two suspects identified as AF, 22, and DN, 19, were observed acting suspiciously. The police searched them and found 0.7 gram of shabu – the street name for crystal meth – in the suspects’ pants.
“The suspects confessed that the shabu belonged to them and they were going to deliver [the drug] to a customer,” said Supriadi.
