our Indonesian beach volleyball teams have survived the group round to enter the knockout stage, which will begin on Friday at the Jakabaring Sports City (JSC) in Palembang, South Sumatra.

In their last match in the group round on Thursday, Indonesian duo Mohammad Ashfiya and Ade Chandra Rachmawan downed their Chinese-Taipei opponents 2-1 to become leaders of Group A.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Gilang Ramadhan and Danangsyah Yudistira Pribadi claimed a 2-0 victory over Bangladesh in Group G. The duo also became leaders of their group.

Women’s duo Desi Ratnasari and Yokebed Purari Eka successfully defeated Thailand 2-1 on Thursday. However, the pair was defeated by Japan 2-1 in a match earlier on Tuesday, making Japan the leader of Group C and Indonesia the runner-up.

Finally, Indonesian duo Dhita Juliana and Putu Dini Jasita Utami were defeated by Thailand 2-1 in their final Group D match. But because they defeated Hong Kong and Vietnam, both with a score of 2-0, on Sunday and Monday, respectively, Dhita and Putu will still move on to the knockout stage.

“Our performance was down in the second set and our opponent was read to meet our strategy,” Dhita said after the match. (dic)
