Soccer fans the world over can now enjoy unprecedented access to the biggest names in the sport thanks to a new app called OTRO. The platform offers fans exclusive content, allowing them to get acquainted with the stars’ past, present and, of course, future ambitions through documentaries, exclusive interviews and archive footage.

The platform also bridges the gap between fans and their idols by offering direct interactions through unfiltered Q&A sessions, with meet and greets even a possibility. Dozens of prizes are up for grabs for fans who can complete a variety of challenges set by the soccer stars.

The stars who have already gotten onboard with OTRO are Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, James Rodriguez, Luis Suarez, Isco, Romelu Lukaku, Jerome Boateng, Paulo Dybala, Gabriel Jesus, Lieke Martens, Benjamin Mendy, Dele Alli, David Luiz, Toni Duggan and Eric Cantona. These names alone have almost 1 billion social media followers.

OTRO CEO Jeremy Dale said soccer fans around the world had always wanted closer relationships with their idols, and that this was exactly where OTRO came in.

“We’ve been designing OTRO as a common platform for both soccer stars and their fans where they could establish relationships directly,” he said in a statement sent to The Jakarta Post on Monday.

Indonesia, a country of 267 million people and where, according to a 2017 Nielsen Sport survey, 77 percent are avid soccer fans, is seen as a huge market for OTRO. Nigeria and Thailand are two other big markets for OTRO.

OTRO is already available for download from the IOS and Android app stores for Rp 29,000 (US$2).
