he Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) stood at 6,290.19 at the end of the first trading session on Wednesday -- 27.34 points or 0.44 percent higher than its position on Tuesday afternoon.
The JCI hit 6,300 earlier in the day.
The plantation sector strengthened by 0.89 percent, followed by the trade sector (0.76 percent), financial sector 0.73 percent, mining sector (0.65 percent) and infrastructure sector (49 percent).
Transaction volume reached 7.97 shares worth Rp 4.53 trillion (US$319.63 million) – 241 stocks strengthened, 145 stocks weakened and 119 shares were unchanged.
The three top gainers were PT Sentul City (4.27 percent), PT Jasa Marga (3.55 percent), PT Indika Energy (3.11 percent), while the three top losers were PT Sri Rejeki Isman (3.30 percent, PT Barito Pacific (2.09 percent) and PT Semen Indonesia (1.99 percent).
Foreign investors recorded net sales of Rp 384.94 billion, while the largest share purchases by foreign investors were seen in Bank Rakyat Indonesia at Rp 141.1 billion, Bank Central Asia (Rp 63.3million) and PT United Tractors (Rp 46.9 billion).
Meanwhile, the biggest sales by foreign investors were seen in Indosat (Rp 37.2 billion), PT Media Nusantara Citra (Rp 21.3 billion) and PT Adi Sarana Armada (Rp 7.9 billion. (bbn)
