man who allegedly stabbed a Transjakarta passenger in East Jakarta did so because he felt offended by people who sit cross legged, police have said.
Kramatjati Police chief Comr. Nurdin A Rahman said the perpetrator, identified as Sudirman, stabbed a 29-year-old passenger who was sitting next to him cross-legged at a bus stop in Cawang on Thursday.
“He is bothered by people sitting with their legs crossed. He felt offended," Nurdin said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
East Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Ady Wibowo said Sudirman, 52, stabbed the victim in the thigh.
Nurdin said Sudirman claimed to have heard a whisper before the stabbing.
"He said he heard a whisper from a ‘spirit’ telling him that the person next to him was insulting him," Nurdin said. (ggq)
