IKEA Indonesia opens second store, more to come in 2020

Sweden-based furniture store IKEA plans to open new outlets in Greater Jakarta and West Java next year as part of its long-term expansion plan in Indonesia.The company, which opened its second outlet in Sentul City, Bogor, West Java on Nov. 28, intends to open two more outlets in 2020, one in Cakung, East Jakarta and another in Bandung, West Java.PT Hero Supermarket president director Patrik Lindvall said that the company chose Sentul City because it was more accessible to Bogor residents who had yet to be covered by the first store in Alam Sutera, Tangerang.In a 2014 interview with The Jakarta Post, IKEA said it wanted to reach two-thirds of the 28 million Greater Jakarta residents by 2024.
