AFP reported on Tuesday that the British prime minister had been admitted to intensive care on Monday evening. Johnson’s official spokesman told the press that the prime minister was receiving "standard oxygen treatment and breathing without any other assistance" and had not required a ventilator.
Johnson had previously spent Sunday night at a London hospital after being taken in for tests following concerns that he still had a cough and high temperature, 10 days after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
Other state leaders and prominent figures have also been sending warm wishes to Britain's prime minister.
Johnson has been temporarily replaced as the head of government by Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab.
