T

he Indonesian Consulate in Dubai has urged the Northern Star Shipping Agency to immediately repatriate 12 Indonesian seafarers currently "trapped" in the United Arab Emirates.

The seafarers were working on the Oasis V ship, which has been docked at Hamriyah Port in the city of Sharjah since June this year. Repatriation efforts were reportedly hampered by the pandemic.

"There were [also] internal issues between the agency, workers and the company that prevented repatriation," the consulate said in a statement on Sunday.
