View all search resultsSocial Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa has called on Batam authorities to thoroughly investigate an alleged underage male prostitution ring involving migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan as part of the state’s efforts to protect children from prostitution networks.
The government launched on Thursday a pilot project in Jakarta to distribute social assistance via electronic banking facilities at four state-owned banks. In this project, the government will no longer use cash transactions in distributing the benefits of the Prosperous Family Card (KKS) to its holders.
Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa has said a decline in Indonesia’s poverty rate from 11.13 percent in September 2015 to 10.86 percent in March, a reduction of around 500,000 people, is a remarkable achievement.
