View all search resultsanyuwangi in East Java will host a fish market festival on Saturday that will showcase fresh fish, decorative fish, freshwater fish aquaculture and fisheries processed goods.
Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas told Antara news agency Friday that the event was part of the Banyuwangi Festival that feature 53 tourism activities throughout this year.

"Visitors will be able to shop for fisheries products at the festival. The event will also hold a 1,500-meter long fish grilling activity," he said.
Up to 2000 people are said to participate in grilling hundreds of kilograms of fish, in which visitors will be invited to enjoy the food afterward.
The event is expected to boost fishery potential in the region, as well as provide a new attraction for tourists as Banyuwangi's Muncar Port is one of the biggest fishing ports in the country. (kes)
