ali's luxurious tourism enclave Nusa Dua will host the Nusa Dua Fiesta, the annual celebration featuring art, culture, sports and exhibitions, from Nov. 13 to 20.

Initiated by the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) in 1996, the 20th edition of this event will take place on Peninsula Island, the new icon of Nusa Dua’s tourism area, located at the southern tip of Bali. This outdoor venue is able to accommodate 10,000 people.

"With this event, we aim to promote the Nusa Dua area not just as an integrated tourism area for accommodation and conferences, but also as a venue for various outdoor activities like exhibitions, art and cultural performances, sports events and entertainment. We also expect a significant increase in tourist visits and occupancy rate of accommodation in Nusa Dua," said Ngurah Wirawan, head of the event's organizing committee.

With the theme "Bring the World to Bali", the event will start with the Nusa Dua 10K Bali Cultural Run and Tennis PGN Nusa Dua Bali Open tournament on Sunday. The running event is expected to draw 1,900 participants, who will run across the white sandy beach, golf course and manicured garden inside the tourism enclave.

After a series of side events, the main agenda will start on Nov. 16, with its official opening by Tourism Minister Arief Yahya. The opening will present a cultural parade featuring Reog Ponorogo, Kebo Iwa Colossal Dance and Cak Bali Mandara.

Until Nov. 20, visitors will be entertained with various activities, including Euro Bungy, exhibition of local products from small and medium enterprises, a food truck parade and culinary competitions, as well as body painting and costume play from the morning until the afternoon. In the evening, a number of local musicians will perform live on stage, including Isyana Sarasvati, Maliq & D'essentials, Yovie & Nuno, The Groove and Teza Sumendra.

Highlights of this year's fiesta include the 22-kilometer Cross Cultural Cycling event on Nov. 19—starting from Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park in Jimbaran to Peninsula Island; the Green Hero Fun Walk on Nov. 20, where residents of Nusa Dua will join hands to clean up the area, collecting garbage and visiting the waste recycling zone in Nusa Dua's lagoon area.
