s an urban destination, Singapore offers plenty of leisure activities for locals and tourists involving sports, entertainment, cuisine and arts and culture.
As recommended by the Singapore Tourism Board, below are some of the events scheduled throughout this year that you should watch out for in this country.
Sports
Race fans can look forward to the Singapore Grand Prix slated for September. During its 10th anniversary this year, the event is expected to present an adrenaline-inducing on-circuit racing competition, as well as off-circuit concerts and other leisure events.

Entertainment
Singapore's music scene in 2017 will be highlighted by legendary rock band Guns 'N’ Roses' first concert in the country in February. Music enthusiasts can also expect to enjoy Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams concerts in March 31 and April 1, which reportedly have already sold out.
Singapore is also set to host some annual events, such as the electronic dance music festival, Ultra Worldwide, in June, music festival Neon Lights in November and dance festival ZoukOut in December. Meanwhile, shopping enthusiasts can look forward to the Singapore Great Sale in June.
Cuisine
The country plans to run the first Eat the World Singapore in March, an event that will focus on international and local street foods. The 21st World Gourmet Summit, which will feature wine and Michelin-star culinary experts, will also commence in the same month. Tourists can also join another food festivity, the Singapore Food Festival, in July.

Arts
Those seeking to get artsy while visiting the country can marvel at contemporary arts festival Singapore Biennale until Feb. 26. Meanwhile, the Singapore International Festival of Arts, an annual event that showcases various kind of performances, will return in September. (kes)
