View all search resultsuring a state visit to Hong Kong, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo attended a meeting with Hong Kong businesspeople on April 15. At the meeting, Jokowi encouraged them to invest in Indonesia.
Jokowi talked about the government’s efforts to make Indonesia a good place to invest in. He noted that the government had eliminated around 3,000 regional government regulations that may have earlier hindered the investment process.

“Due to all the efforts that we’ve undertaken, our rank went up in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index last year. It went from 106 to 91,” said Jokowi.
Moreover, he talked about the many opportunities to invest in the tourist sector, a sector that is currently booming in the country.
The government has come up with a program called “10 New Balis”. The program hopes to develop 10 tourist destinations across Indonesia that will follow in Bali’s success. (kes)
