Jokowi mentioned that he had eliminated 3,000 regional government regulations to ease the investment process in the country.
Jokowi claims that this increased Indonesia’s rank in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index from 106 to 91 last year.
During the meeting, Jokowi also promoted the “10 New Bali” tourist destinations consisting of Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Tanjung Kelayang in Bangka Belitung, Tanjung Lesung in Banten, Thousand Islands regency in Jakarta, Borobudur temple in Central Java, Bromo, Tengger and Semeru in East Java, Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Wakatobi in Southest Sulawesi, and Morotai in North Maluku.
“You may want to buy property there soon before Li Ka-shing buys everything and the price goes up,” the President joked. (kes)
