ingaporean low-cost airline from Singapore Airlines, Scoot has opened a new direct-flight route between Palembang and Singapore on Nov. 23.
The route will have four flights in a week, available every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday using A320 planes that can accommodate 180 passengers each.
Scoot chief commercial officer Vinod Kannan said that the airline is going to promote Palembang tourism.
“We will promote to countries that Scoot flies to, Scoot currently travels to 61 destinations in 16 countries such as China, India, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Greece,” said Vinod.
Palembang has plenty of tourist attractions to offer such as Musi River, Kamaro Island, Angel Waterfall, Kuto Besak Castle, Siguntang Hill and Bala Kuta Dewa Museum.
Moreover, Palembang food is one of the most famous foods in Indonesia. The city’s popular dishes include pempek, mie celor and pindang.
Next year, Palembang and Jakarta are set to host the 2018 Asian Games. (asw)
