ount Sumbing in Wonosobo, Central Java, is set to reopen to visitors on Aug. 1, with the reopening of the mountain's Garung hiking trail currently in its trial phase as Mount Sumbing management adapts to the "new normal".
“We will limit the number of visitors to 250 hikers per day,” said Lilik Setiyawan, coordinator of the Mount Sumbing Management Forum, as quoted by kompas.com.
Prior to arrival, all travelers are required to obtain a hiking permit by contacting the management via WhatsApp at +6285226492745.
The mountain's base camp will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
