Cloud computing assurance from SAP

Cloud computing in Indonesia is a rapidly growing sector, according to multinational software corporation Systems Applications Products (SAP). Such insight has driven SAP Indonesia to expand its software provision services to include cloud computing solutions.

'€œThe cloud computing sector [of SAP] has grown 39 percent worldwide to '€‹38 million cloud users. SAP Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) recorded the highest growth at 48 percent,'€ said Megawaty Khie, managing director of SAP Indonesia, in an interview with The Jakarta Post Digital at SAP Indonesia'€™s office in Jakarta.

With cloud being a recent trend in computing technology, it is still relatively uncharted water for some businesses. The issues of security, Internet stability, cost efficiency and implementation time hold businesses back from migrating to the cloud system.

Megawaty is confident that SAP'€™s Cloud Solutions will be able to cope with these problems. SAP'€™s cloud system efficiently connects users to social media platforms.

According to Megawaty, SAP'€™s cloud system is perfect for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as it is more efficient than using conventional hardware, in terms of cost and time.

'€œI have seen our systems go live in 18 months, four weeks and even two weeks. I have seen companies who achieved return on investment four weeks after it went live, due to operational cost savings,'€ said Shyam Prasad, vice president of cloud and line of business at SAP Southeast Asia, during the same occasion.

Security is also a high priority at SAP, with major clients such as Bank Mandiri and XL Axiata telecommunications company.

SAP'€™s Cloud Solutions cater to different functions, such as procurement, finance, sales and marketing, human resources and client services.

SAP software also allows users to mine information for instant insight to turn customer interest into sales. XL Axiata uses SAP InfiniteInsight Solution, which allows the firm to use predictive analytics to generate profitable customer relationships. XL Axiata has seen its customer base grow by nearly 25 percent.
