Ocean Capital Investments ditched MobileIron for BlackBerry hosted solution on BES12
Last November, when BlackBerry upgraded their cross-platform EMM solution with BES12 and then introduced a complete package of enterprise portfolio, one question still remained. How fast will EMM solution from BlackBerry be adopted by the enterprise community?
The positive response from enterprise market came immediately. On Dec. 19, Ocean Capital Investments and its subsidiaries, members of the Irving family of companies, are replacing MobileIron, their former device management provider, with BES12.
Their decision to use BlackBerry Hosted Solution on BES12 -- a scalable, cloud-based, cross-platform EMM solution that can be leveraged by small businesses and global enterprises alike -- was also followed by replacing most of their iOS devices with the BlackBerry 10 devices such as BlackBerry Passport and the newly launched BlackBerry Classic.
'BlackBerry is providing the most secure end-to-end mobile solutions with BES12 and their new suite of smartphones with BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Classic,' said Ocean Capital Investments president John K.F. Irving.
The news surely represents a major success for BlackBerry, not just for their new enterprise portfolio, but also for their smartphone devices.
BlackBerry Passport is a unique device that has both style and portability for productivity-driven professionals, while BlackBerry Classic offers the performance of BlackBerry 10, but still includes the classic navigation keys and optical trackpad.
'BlackBerry Hosted Solution is a great option for customers like Ocean Capital Investments because it offers them the secure, cross-platform features of BES12 with the convenience of hosted IT administration and support.' said BlackBerry executive vice president of enterprise product and value added solutions Billy Ho.
Talking about security, the Ocean Capital Investments' move to BES12 was natural since BES and BlackBerry 10 smartphones already received more than 70 security certifications, trusted by 16 countries of the G20 governments and relied on by all five of the largest oil and gas businesses.
'We're working closely with BlackBerry to implement BES12 as a hosted solution for our EMM needs and are ready to replace our previous provider with this highly secure, cross-platform service. Our priority is to give our employees the right tools to get the job done and our BlackBerry solution will allow us to do that,' said Irving to further confirm their trust in BlackBerry security.
And if this move by Ocean Capital Investments could be an indication, more companies will surely follow and deploy BES12 and their EMM solutions, especially ones that have mobile deployment models such as Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD), Corporate Owned, Personally Enabled (COPE) or Corporate Owned, Business Only (COBO).
