“The innovation is in every single nozzle, which has to be placed precisely on the spray disc,” said Heisterhagen.

PowderRain spray is much finer than conventional shower jets, thanks to the newly developed micro spray technology. The spray has six fine openings that transform the spray into thousands of micro droplets by means of sophisticated technology, resulting in light sprays that fall gently on the skin without bouncing off.

For open showers – in sleek designed urban bathrooms or island-style outdoor showers – the technology used in PowderRain is ideal as it reduces splashing, meaning much less work when cleaning the shower area.

Moreover, another principle of nature is applied to make the new PowderRain spray effective: when concentrated, many small things often produce a strong impact. The increased number of droplets of PowderRain makes the water cover larger areas of the body. So, when rinsing out shampoo, for instance, PowderRain works more effectively.

“And the sprays are arranged more densely as well, which intensifies the moistening of the skin,” said Heisterhagen.

Apart from being inspired by nature, Hansgrohe also cares for nature, as PowderRain lowers water consumption in handheld showers by about 30 percent to just 12 liters per minute. And less water also means lower energy consumption.

To ensure that a shower experience with PowderRain pampers all our senses, it also includes pleasant acoustics developed in Hansgrohe’s new sound laboratory, where experts came up with a technology that reduces shower sounds in PowderRain by about 20 percent.
