In the mood for tacos, burritos, quesadillas and nachos? Lucky for you, Jakartans, as Taco Bell is coming to town this month.
Jakarta’s opening of Taco Bell – the world-renowned Mexican-inspired quick service restaurant (QSR) – will also mark the restaurant’s first flagship location in the Asia-Pacific region.
Ankush Tuli, Taco Bell Asia-Pacific managing director, said in a statement that the company was excited to work with Indonesia’s PT Fast Food Indonesia as its franchise partner, with the latter having a reputation as a strong operator with its Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Indonesia business, a sister brand of Taco Bell.
“The country’s strong food culture, adventurous spirit and appetite for trying new things make it an ideal market for Taco Bell,” Tull said.
Meanwhile, Hendra Yuniarto, PT Fast Food Indonesia’s general manager of marketing, said that Taco Bell had many fans in Indonesia, and that the restaurant would be warmly welcomed in the capital.
“The Indonesian consumer always craves for new and unique experiences and [by] utilizing our expertise in the fast-food retail segment, we believe that Taco Bell will be a huge success,” said Hendra.
As of today, Taco Bell has more than 7,000 restaurants across 31 countries. Since the time it was established in 1962 in California, the United States, it has always offered a unique and affordable menu, without any compromise on quality.
Founder Glen Bell recognized the popularity of tacos, quesadillas and nachos as a small hot dog stand owner and operator in San Bernardino, California.
By 1951, Bell had a new stand named Taco-Tia with only tacos. His empire grew steadily as he bought and sold El Taco restaurants throughout Southern California.
He opened the first Taco Bell in Downey, California, in 1962, and rapid expansion enabled the brand to reach 100 locations by 1967.
Despite fierce competition, the restaurant sits as one of the top options around. Now the quick service restaurant has more than 2 billion customers annually worldwide.
Taco Bell serves made-to-order and customizable tacos and burritos and other specialties with bold flavors, quality ingredients, breakthrough value and best-in-class customer service to over 40 million customers weekly across the globe.
While the brand is known for offering great value, it consistently ensures best quality ingredients are sourced from top suppliers within the country and across the world.
Indonesia’s first Taco Bell restaurant will be located in the Senopati area, South Jakarta, currently dubbed the trendiest locality for the youth.
Taco Bell aims to be a great place to hang out and share life moments over great quality food and a fun, vibrant environment, while also complying with the current health and safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of the customers and restaurant staff.
Meanwhile, Taco Bell fans can also stay connected with this quick service restaurant through its social media accounts, namely Instagram @tacobellid, Facebook at Taco Bell Indonesia, Twitter @tacobellid and TikTok at tacobellid.
