gritech company Koltiva, in collaboration with online payment service provider PT Artajasa Pembayaran Elektronis, has launched KoltiPay as a dedicated digital payment platform to improve digital literacy, financial management and quality of  life for Indonesian farmers.

The KoltiPay launch event was held to coincide with visit of Swiss Council of States president Alex Kuprecht and World Bank country director for Indonesia Satu Kahkonen to Koltiva's head office in South Jakarta.

KoltiPay is a digital wallet specially developed by Koltiva that is integrated with FarmCloud for livestock farms, FarmGate for agribusinesses and FarmRetail for agricultural inputs (agri-inputs) from shop owners.

To mark the launch of KoltiPay, Koltiva CEO Manfred Borer said: “Our users are small farmers in rural areas in Indonesia and globally in 30 countries. They all need some quick cash.

“If we can convince them to start using cashless payments, e-wallets with split payment method, they can get a little cash and the rest goes directly to their savings accounts and digital wallets. We help them by providing easy transactions and secure payments through KoltiPay."

KoltiPay complements existing payment options for the agriculture industry by offering a split payment method that combines cash with online transfers to farmers' bank accounts, as well as a cashless payment method that facilitates direct transfers to farmers' bank accounts or KoltiPay accounts.

KoltiPay also helps farmers to benefit from digital transactions, as they can manage their finances online at any time and from anywhere without worrying about whether their money is safely stored. In addition, traders do not need to withdraw cash at faraway ATMs or banks to conduct transactions, because they can pay for farm produce directly into farmers’ accounts through KoltiPay.

Cloud integration: The KoltiPay Unggul feature allows users to manage their savings, while the Buy Wallet feature helps them top up their KoltiPay balance to a maximum Rp 10 million to purchase agricultural inputs (agri-input) and pay bills through the Payment Point Online Bank (PPOB) system. Buy Wallet also allows maximum transactions of Rp 20 million per month, while the Sell Wallet feature helps facilitate incoming payments from produce sales.

"KoltiPay acts on transparency in our end-to-end, seed-to-table traceability, so we can track and trace everything [through] our customized applications. With KoltiPay, we are improving and acting on the transparency [principle] in documenting the flow of money. We enable fair distribution of profits and create an ethical global value chain,” added Borer.

“Hopefully, KoltiPay will become the No. 1 e-wallet application in all rural areas in Indonesia. This is the solution for value chains in agriculture [and] other natural resource sectors, [including] verified producers, input suppliers and off-takers and the integration of [an online] payment system in rural areas," he explained.

Artajasa business director Anthoni Morris, who also attended the KoltiPay launch event on Nov. 3, said that the collaboration between Artajasa and Koltiva aimed to provide electronic payment services and other business processes for Koltiva’s customers in the agricultural supply chain.

KoltiPay is powered by MYNT, Artajasa’s electronic payment service solution for the future integration of electronic money to support a more secure, easier and efficient payment ecosystem.

“This synergistic partnership is a joint effort to ready a strong production environment for magnificent product, value and solutions for Koltiva and its users,” said Anthoni.

“Of course, the server-based MYNT e-money solution we provide is the solution for running agile and efficient business operations, with integration done over API [application programming interface] that is based on customer needs. So Koltipay powered by MYNT supports the nationwide digitalization of agriculture,” he said.
