he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned on Thursday East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa in connection with a corruption case involving the disbursement of provincial grant funds during her previous term, which has ensnared several local councilors.

Khofifah was questioned for eight hours at the East Java Police Headquarters in Surabaya.

“The questioning went smoothly,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said on Thursday, as reported by Kompas.

After the questioning, Khofifah stated that investigators inquired about the organizational structure of the East Java administration during her previous terms, including the names of agency heads, bureau chiefs and other institution leaders.

“I was questioned in my capacity as a witness for several suspects involved in the graft case. I have provided comprehensive statements and hope they will assist the KPK’s ongoing investigation,” she said.
