T

o support the 2021 Indonesian Badminton Festival (IBF) that is currently ongoing in Nusa Dua, Bali, PT LG Electronics Indonesia is providing the latest generation of wearable air purifiers to each successful competitor.

"Apart from our support for the Indonesian Badminton Festival and appreciation for the achievements of the athletes in it, LG hopes that this donation can support athletes' activities," said Lee Taejin, president of LG Electronics Indonesia. He further added that the gift was an expression of appreciation by LG for all the medal winners in the three international class matches at the 2021 IBF.

The IBF will be the biggest badminton festival of the year running from Nov. 16 until Dec. 5.  The festival includes three world-class badminton competitions at once. Commencing with the 2021 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters BWF World Tour Super 750 and followed by the 2021 SimInvest Indonesia Open BWF World Tour Super 1000, the biggest badminton competition event will end with the five-day BWF World Tour Finals. The magnitude of this event is something that Indonesia has never seen before.

The electronics company is listed as one of the official sponsors of the grand badminton competition. In addition to providing the wearable air purifiers for the winning athletes, the gifts have also been distributed to all athletes representing Indonesia in the 2021 IBF competition.

"We have prepared this gift as part of the support package for Indonesian badminton athletes competing in this international competition," said Lee Taejin.

According to Jay Jang, several innovations are embedded in the latest LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier. As the second generation of air purifiers in the form of clothing, LG has included various updates, while still maintaining the use of HEPA filters that play a role in cleaning the air, just like its predecessors. (Q: what is Jay Jang’s title?)

Unlike its predecessors, the new design is lighter at just 94 grams, and the use of medical grade silicone ensures it is attached to the user’s face without the fear of allergic reactions. Furthermore, the update has increased comfort by creating an automatic airflow system when breathing through the development of dual fans and a patented breathing sensor, with the support of a 1,000 mAh rechargeable battery. The dual fans help circulate air as the user takes a breath, while the breath sensor works to adjust the user's breathing pattern and adjust the speed of the fan.

“This ability to adjust breathing patterns makes it comfortable to use in various activities. From relaxing activities to training, while still getting the previously filtered air," said Lee Taejin.

Moreover, LG has added the VoiceON feature in the form of an integrated speaker and microphone in the device, enabling it to automatically detect the user's voice and then amplify the volume, making communication easier.

"While not only supporting the development of badminton in Indonesia through its involvement in the 2021 IBF, LG is also paying special attention to athletes who are the pride of Indonesia," said Agung Firman Saputra, the general chairperson of the central board of the Indonesian Badminton Association, expressing his gratitude for the company’s support for the sport.

He stated that this was a good example of collaboration between various parties, including the private sector, in the development of sports in Indonesia. Especially for the advancement of badminton, which is one of the sports that highlights the pride of Indonesia on the world stage after previous wins in other world events and the Olympics. Agung hoped that this good collaboration could continue and develop in the future.
