HSBC establishes second Wealth Center in Jakarta

I

n an attempt to improve customer satisfaction, HSBC Indonesia has inaugurated its second Wealth Center located in the heart of the metropolitan area; Pondok Indah.

Preceded by a similar location in Puri, both branches aim to provide a more integrated and comprehensive wealth-management service for HSBC Premier customers, by combining lifestyle experiences and banking experiences more dynamically.

"We understand the different needs of each customer. Therefore, we continue to innovate to provide relevant services for our customers, one of which is by providing touch points for omni-channel wealth services both through our digital platforms and branch offices, which we call Wealth Centers,” explained Lanny Hendra, director of wealth and personal banking at HSBC Indonesia.

The Pondok Indah Wealth Center will act as a community platform for the bank’s customers that primarily reside in South Jakarta. Revolutionizing the conventional way of banking, the center will approach its relationship with customers by aligning various interesting lifestyles and offer activities surrounding them.

“The era is actually changing, right? In the future, banks are no longer just providers, where do we provide? Where we can unite with them, where they can have activities with their communities here,” Lanny said about the lounge-like spaces.

.

To mark the inauguration, customers were treated to a test drive in a BMW and a food presentation from the Fairmont Hotel, as well as enjoying performances by famed Indonesian singer, Andien.

As for their specific services, the Wealth Center offers customers a chance to connect with esteemed relationship managers regarding the various products available to all Premier customers of the bank. This is in line with the three pillars that guide HSBC, which are wealth advisory, lifestyle benefit and international education.

While the Wealth Center focuses on the first pillar, activities will also be held at the space that cater to lifestyle and international education through collaboration with HSBC’s partners.

.

In the future, the HSBC Wealth Center will also hold various seminars regarding market updates and investments on a regular basis with well-known investment and economic experts, in line with the bank’s mission to continue providing the latest insights into market conditions and the investment climate for Premier customers.

To give attendees a taste of what’s to come, Michael Tjoajadi, president director of Schroders Indonesia, was present at the inauguration to provide a brief explanation of the investment outlook in 2024.

.

Lanny also revealed that the bank is already planning to open another Wealth Center in Sudirman, slated for the next year. The innovation has proved to be popular among its customer base, as the Puri location has also attracted more visitors.

“Indonesian people prefer to gather together, that's a trait of Indonesians, and we are Indonesian. How do we actually cultivate and how do we create a bond, and how do we make sure that the customer feels at home? HSBC is where I bank but my community is also there, if necessary, I can also go there, providing that comfort feeling that they can trust us,” Lanny said, hoping the calming atmosphere in Wealth Centers can put old and new customers at ease.

.

HSBC Indonesia won the title of Best Wealth Manager 2023 from The Asset Triple A, the sixth since 2018. Moreover, HSBC Indonesia has also just been named Best International Bank in Indonesia for the second time by AsiaMoney and has been recognized for its Excellence in Digital Wealth Management by The Digital Banker.
