ug. 17th is fast approaching, an opportunity for all Indonesians to reflect on how far we’ve come and how much more we still have to do as a country. Counting all the different milestones that Indonesia has achieved in 78 years, there is no greater pride than the fact that the Southeast Asian country has become a global player in the world stage across many industries.

PT Global Digital Niaga, or Blibli as it is known by locals, understands this sentiment. The company is holding an annual Local Warrior campaign with the theme #TakGentarCekoutNow as a form of strengthening its commitment to local product development. It is hoped that the program can become an inspiration to local business owners everywhere to help grow.

Taking place from Aug. 14 and expected to continue until Aug. 18, the collaboration event with #TakGentarCekOutJadi Local Warriors will have special shopping promotions, ranging from cashbacks of up to Rp 170,000, to flash sales. While Blibli believes that local businesses have what it takes to compete in the global market, they do believe that a heightened awareness is essential to achieve this.

"Blibli is again echoing the #PejuangLokal #TakGentarCekOutNow campaign in commemoration of Indonesia's 78th Independence Day. This campaign is being run in collaboration with leading local products: Acaii Tea, Buttonscarves, Eiger and Realfood, which are expected to inspire other local businesses to continue to upgrade and grow their businesses so they can become as big as them. But at the same time, it also forms the public's perception that local Indonesian products have equal quality to products on the global market. So that the Indonesian people in general can #TakGentarCheckOutNow local products," explained Eward K. Suwignyo, chief marketing officer of Blibli.

The invitation to collaborate has been welcomed greatly by local warriors. Linda Anggrea, CEO of Buttonscarves, expressed her appreciation for Blibli's support as an enabler for the growth of local brands, with features that make it easier for sellers to fulfill orders.

"Joining since 2019, Buttonscarves decided to use the service provided by Blibli [Fulfillment by Blibli] so that product storage is safer at Blibli warehouses, the process of returns from customers is also easier, and order fulfillment can be done quickly. Understanding the lifestyle needs of the Indonesian people who want to look stylish on various occasions, by utilizing the 2 Hours to Blibli feature, our products can arrive in the hands of customers quickly," said Linda.

Edwin Pranata, the president director of Realfood, also echoed the sentiment, “Joining Blibli opens opportunities for collaboration with global and local brands in achieving a common goal, which is to penetrate a wider market with products made from the best natural ingredients from Indonesia. So far, we have established exclusive collaborations with Adidas and Tefal, and now Realfood products are also available at the Ranch Market and Farmers Market as part of the Blibli Tiket omnichannel ecosystem.”

Furthermore, Jason Edward as general manager of Eiger and Jessica Irene as owner of Acaii Tea, revealed that people are more motivated to get used to a healthy and active lifestyle after the pandemic. The fact was further proven through research published in the 2023 Asia Pacific Health Priority Survey, which noted that almost 92 percent of Indonesian respondents had become more concerned about health. Additionally, as many as 86 percent of Indonesian respondents are willing to spend more on health and wellness, including consuming healthier food and buying dietary supplements.

In line with these results, Indonesians are responding more to sales of healthy drinks and outdoor sports equipment. Responding to this market demand, Blibli also presents various online and offline shopping festivals, which are supported by the free shipping feature, to support consumers in getting the local products they want quickly.

While trends have been attributed to the increase in sales, it is not enough to sustain, based on the ever-changing fads in society. According to Arto Biantoro, local brand activist, local brands need to build an original identity, strengthen collaboration, and have long-term goals in building a customer base and encouraging them to be proud of using authentic Indonesian products.

“Building an original identity is important, for example by becoming an official store at Blibli, fulfilling permits and product certification according to government regulations so that it can build customer trust and influence the shopping decision-making process. Collaboration with local and global brands has also become easier by joining the integrated Blibli omnichannel ecosystem to build a wider brand, value and market penetration," said Arto.

Apart from raising awareness about the quality of local brands, Blibli is also empowering sellers to increase self-development, which in turn is expected to elevate their brands. The platform offers marketing strategy education through Blibli Seller University, Blibli Seller Center services to accommodate sellers' needs, Fulfillment by Blibli services to facilitate stock storage at Blibli warehouses and product-return processes, as well as a special microsite for marketing various quality local products.

For the period of Aug. 14-18, in celebration of Indonesia’s 78th anniversary, Blibli will be offering various attractive promo themes every day from various categories. Users can also enjoy all the excitement of the special promo with double the excitement with discount opportunities of up to 80 percent and Clearance Sale for products from well-known local brands. Customers ought to be sure to keep an eye, as brands have joined in the fun by launching exclusive products and deals.

The experience of shopping for local, global quality products will be even more valuable with a 100 percent original product guarantee, and supported by multiple free shipping, postage subsidies for two-hour delivery, 24/7 customer service, 15-day free item return policy and Blibli Tiket Rewards.

"Together with the Local Warriors, we are optimistic that we can encourage the spirit of Bangga Buatan Indonesia with curated local products and special collections at Blibli. The synergy between Blibli and local brand partners is expected to be able to open consumers' eyes to the quality of local products that are increasingly competitive, besides of course supporting their business progress through digitalization support and superior seller features that we present in the Blibli omnichannel ecosystem," concluded Edward.
