A

s small-scale concerts start to come back amid the slow but sure vaccination rate, Jakarta-based record label Orange Cliff plans a concert titled Unfamiliar Dawn starring its roster of musicians in Bandung on Jan. 26.

The concert will be a mixture of talents and sounds, dominated by artists approaching music through experimental methods: KUNTARI, Mahamboro, Logic Lost, Monica Hapsari, Ramaputratantra and Hunus. All of the artists are currently making albums.

“[The title] Unfamiliar Dawn represents a foreign and awkward start. Almost two years after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, music concerts have started to return, but it still feels a little bit surreal because of the uncertainty promised by the future after new virus variants occur,” Orange Cliff explained in a press release made available to The Jakarta Post.

Unfamiliar Dawn will take place in Groots, a health food restaurant in Bandung. The concert will serve as a pilot for other music and visual events at the venue.
