em>With unmatched Mercedes-Benz User Experience technology, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS and S-class offer customization to meet customers’ preferences.

Mercedes-Maybach, the most luxurious and exclusive line from Mercedes-Benz, launched new models dubbed the GLS and S-Class, on Oct. 26 at the Bali Ballroom in the Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta.

These new series incorporates the latest technological developments through the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) interior assistant that offers an innovative system—it can detect and interpret users' hand and arm movements to activate selected functions in the car within seconds.

To activate the personal menu, users can make a "V" shape using their index and middle finger. The MBUX is also integrated with other systems in the car—passengers, for instance, can also open and close the doors or the sunblind simply with hand movements.

Customers can personalize their cars from 14 different colors available. They can also choose the style of the rims and the car's interior color, in accordance with their preferences.

"With 14 colors to pick from, we provide another alternative for our exclusive customers, who are targeted as a more mature audience," said Hari Arifianto, deputy director of sales operations and product management at Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia.

The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS and the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class are offered at a recommended off-the-road price of Rp 6.52 billion (US$ 419,000) and Rp 5.9 billion ($379,000) respectively.

The Maybach brand was founded in 1909 by father and son Wilhelm and Karl Maybach in Germany. The first Mercedes-Maybach models were introduced in 2014, which included the S 500, S 550 and S 600.
