Social media has indeed transcended its humble origins. Meta Platforms, previously known as Facebook, embodies this evolution. Initially conceived as a tool for connecting people, the digital community hub has now developed into multiple platforms for sharing ideas, fostering awareness and catalyzing new businesses in adaptation to the increasingly intricate demands of today’s users.

Recently, Meta, in collaboration with the online youth community Cretivox, conducted a survey of its young Indonesian users. The results of this survey have shed light on the behaviors and preferences of millennials and Gen Z in the country.

"Every day, billions of people across the world use Meta to connect with friends, family and businesses,” Revie Sylviana, director of global partnerships for Meta in Southeast Asia, said during the press conference at Meta Indonesia office, Jakarta, on March 27.

“In Indonesia, we see young users driving trends, culture, conversations and best practices on Meta platforms.”

The survey, named Kuis Tipis-Tipis (Light Quiz), was conducted online between March 5 and 15. Approximately 10,000 Meta users from across the archipelago, aged between 15 and 30 years old, took part in the survey.

The quiz consisted of 14 multiple-choice questions spanning eight topics, including activism, finances and social interaction.
