ood and dining are once again at center stage as fasting Muslims buka bersama (break the fast together), wake early for sahur (predawn meal) and celebrate Idul Fitri, all part of Ramadan traditions.
The Westin Nusa Dua Resort, Bali, has designed a special dining experience for the holiday that not only promotes healthy, authentic Indonesian cuisine, but also tempts your palate, by collaborating with chef Vindex Tengker, a prominent culinary figure in Indonesia.
It is offering an array of scrumptious dining experiences, from appetizers to desserts served Rijstafel (lit. rice table, or buffet) style, which is not-to-be-missed.
The hotel’s series of festivities begin with Ramadan iftar available from April 2 until May 1, at 5:30 - 9:30pm. Break your fast with sumptuous and delicious food from across the archipelago, such as ayam opor kuning (yellow Opor chicken) from Jakarta, dendeng batokok (beef jerky) from Sumatra and tumis bunga pepaya (sautéed papaya flower) from Manado, all carefully prepared by Vindex Tengker.
The menu for Ramadan iftar is designed to help replenish your body, ensuring that you get the nutrition needed after a whole day’s fast. It is priced at Rp 250,000 (US$17.39) per person and available for delivery.
To celebrate Idul Fitri -- the victorious moment -- the hotel is delighted to invite you and your loved ones to a remarkable dinner. From May 2 until May 6, 5:30 - 9:30 pm, we offer an exceptional and unique Idul Fitri feast. Included are both hot and cold appetizers, such as tum ayam (chicken wrapped in banana leaves and steamed or grilled), bakwan sayur (vegetable fritters), serombotan (steamed vegetables and hardboiled rice) and tahu gejrot (fried tofu with sweet-and-sour sauce); a selection of noodles, including mie ayam bakso (chicken noodle soup with meatballs) accompanied by a variety of condiments; and the classic, never-to-be-missed on Idul Fitri, ketupat sayur (hardboiled rice with vegetable curry). Priced at Rp350,000 per person.
