S

uper Indo formally launched its cage-free eggs under the 365 brand that is available at every Super Indo outlet. Joining the wide selection of chicken eggs on Super Indo shelves, the cage-free chicken eggs are socially inclusive and environmentally friendly.

“One of the most popular staple goods among our customers are chicken eggs. All of our chicken eggs are sourced from NKV [veterinary control number] and certified farms under the Indonesian government regulation,” said president director of Super Indo Johan Boeijenga.

As a supermarket that has grown with the Indonesian community, Super Indo is committed to offering prime poultry and meat products while upholding animal welfare. “Chicken eggs are a very popular product among the people of Indonesia. Now customers can get cage-free eggs at all Super Indo outlets. This is an ongoing effort with our suppliers and partners to promote the animal welfare movement in Indonesia,” said general manager of corporate affairs and sustainability Yuvlinda Susanta.

In addition, Super Indo is also committed to implementing strict food safety to provide fresh, high-quality ingredients.

So far, Super Indo has been implementing food safety standards recommended by the government. In addition Super Indo is also encouraging its partnered micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to implement the global standard of food safety and social compliance. To that end, the supermarket chain is collaborating with the British Retail Consortium Global Standard (BRCGS) to conduct international standard training and certification for MSME supplier partners on food safety standards and social compliance in the supply chain.

“At Super Indo, our goal is to make healthy food accessible and affordable anywhere, anytime. We are integrating this increased awareness of food safety into the main focus of our operations,” explained Johan Boeijenga.

““Food safety is a requirement that suppliers must fulfill. To guarantee the safety of our products, producers will need certification from credible institutions, both national and global.” Added vice president of buying and indirect procurement of Super Indo Donny Ardianta Passa.
