ndonesian male skincare brand MS Glow For Men and Italy’s Gresini Racing team have signed their partnership agreement at a media event broadcast via Zoom and Instagram Live on Thursday (26/05/2022).
Representing MS Glow For Men was its founder Gilang Widya Pramana, while commercial and marketing director Carlo Merlini inked the deal on behalf of Gresini Racing. Viewers also caught a sight of racer Fabio di Giannantonio as he popped on screen in a brief appearance at the signing event, hosted by former racer and MotoGP commentator Matteo Guerinoni.
"By joining MS Glow For Men, we feel closer to Indonesia, which is also one of our dreams and goals. Therefore, I would like to congratulate MS Glow For Men and thank Mr. Gilang and Mrs. Shandy for their trust in the Gresini Racing team," said Merlini, referring to Shandy Purnamasari, Gilang’s wife and business partner.
The two parties also talked about the inception of the partnership, which has been in the works since Feb. 4, when the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and Gresini Racing formally announced the partnership.
For its part, MS Glow For Men directly approached Gresini Racing during the Indonesia Grand Prix in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara, with the support of the tourism ministry.
The partnership is in place for the remainder of the 2022 season as an “introduction”. Merlini said, however, that he hoped this would be the start of a long relationship between the two brands.
The partnership debuts on Sunday (29/05/2022) at the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello circuit in Scarperia e San Piero, Tuscany, Italy, with the MS Glow For Men logo featured on the team’s livery.
"I hope this collaboration can continue and MS Glow For Men, one of Indonesia's proud products, will appear on Gresini Racing motorcycles and [racing gear] to make Indonesia proud on the international scene," said Gilang. Continuing, he expressed his hope that the partnership would increase awareness among Indonesian men about the importance of taking care of their skin.
"We hope to give more exposure to the MS Glow For Men brand and together build an activation program for strong products and brands," Merlini said, referring to how the partnership would benefit the two parties.
The partnership has sentimental value for Gilang, who has long been a fan of the sport.
He revealed at the press event that MotoGP was a lifelong passion, and that one of his first business ventures was a car wash he named Lorenzo Snow Wash 99, after the five-time world champion and MotoGP legend Jorge Lorenzo, whose racing number was 99.
Gilang said he hoped the partnership with Gresini Racing would convert to wider reach for the skincare brand through exposure to motorcycle enthusiasts in Indonesia, whom he affectionately referred to as “anak motor” (motorcycle kids). He added that this was only the beginning for the brand’s involvement in sports, and that it was also a sponsor of the upcoming Formula E in Jakarta.
“We hope this partnership can be a boost for the riders for the rest of the season,” Merlini said as the event concluded.
