W Bali – Seminyak has appointed Norberto Valdez Palacios as the hotel’s new culinary director.

“Norberto is more than ready to amplify his culinary experiences to lead the team at W Bali, with the hotel’s well-known outlets such as Fire restaurant, Starfish Bloo and their Sunday Brunch to Woobar Bali and other B&F [beverage and food] outlets in the property,” said W Bali – Seminyak in a statement.

Starting his professional career right after he had graduated, Norberto cooked as a chef de partie, chef instructor and finally took his first executive chef position in 2006.

He also has experience as an external chef consultant in one of Mexico’s well-known beach clubs, helping the pre-opening culinary team to set up their two restaurants.

In 2019, Norberto finally joined the W family as executive chef at W Maldives, successfully leading a multicultural team of highly skilled food professional for three of its restaurants, Steak House, International All-day dining and a seafood restaurant.

Within his W Maldives career, he was also involved in several special events with well-known international chefs, such as the Island Take Over with Mark LaBrooy, the chef and owner of Three Blue Ducks, a famous group restaurant located in W Brisbane.

Outside of the hotel, Norberto is passionate about gardening and outdoor activities.
