ndonesian owned start-ups, Gravel, fulfilled invitation from the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry H.E. Redha Juma Al Saleh, to attend the country’s Annual Business General Meeting to expound on Gravel’s technology that can be a solution for the thriving Oman’s infrastructure projects in finding construction workers through apps made by Gravel. During the three-day visit in Muscat, Gravel, represented by CEO Georgi Putra and CPO Fredy Yanto, was also introduced to the delegation of representatives from 57 countries as a digital service technology company that brings together the supply-demand of construction workers in Indonesia.
At one of the sessions at the Annual General Meeting, Georgi explained that Gravel is able to answer the market's need for quality construction workers. It is very important for Gravel to ensure that the skills of the workforce who are Gravel's partners are in accordance with construction industry standards. "It doesn't stop there, Gravel also integrates its services into other industries, such as automotive, oil and gas, telecommunications, mining, power generation, and environmental infrastructure. So, we also help partners to improve skills that are even more specific," Georgi continued.
At this great momentum, Georgi and Fredy also shared their views on the important role of apps technology in supporting a rapidly developing country like Oman. In the meantime, Redha Juma Al Saleh expressed his positive response and hoped that Gravel technology could later be applied in Oman, through the provision of quality project workers, also to encourage the development of the technology for construction industry in Oman.
Currently Oman is intensively developing the ICT sector and making this sector one of the priorities in Oman's long-term development. The government of Oman also formed the Oman ICT Group in 2019 which focuses on developing cloud & data services, cyber-security, smart apps and next-generation technology.
With the construction market expected to continue to grow and the Government of Oman's full support in the technology sector, Gravel and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry see the potential for cooperation that must be explored by both parties. Furthermore, Gravel and Oman’s Chambers of Commerce will work to finalize the application development cooperation plan, which is expected to be a breakthrough for Indonesian technology companies in penetrating the Middle East market.
